New Yard Waste Rules

Yard waste is collected by Waste Management at curbside, provided it is in reusable containers not exceeding thirty (30) gallons in volume and fifty (50) pounds in weight. Yard waste may also be placed in paper composting bags not to exceed 30 gallons or 50 pounds in weight. The limit is 10 bags per week.

New Markings for Yard Waste Cans
Starting in the spring of 2004 yard waste cans must be marked with two stickers stating "Yard Waste Only." Stickers are free and available at City Hall.

Paper composting bags are available for purchase at City Office at a cost of $2.25 for five (5) bags.

Yard waste will be picked up once per week, during the months of April thru November, on the same day as the solid waste and recycling removal.

Rescheduling Under the current contract, solid waste, yard waste and recyclables are collected on Fridays. Collection is delayed one day for Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day, if the holiday falls on a weekday. For holidays falling on the weekend, the City's trash collection day will not be affected. Changes in the City's trash collection day, due to a holiday, are indicated on the city calendar.
