Macomb County Community Services Agency (MCCSA)

Adult Day Care Services is another program available to Macomb County Senior Citizens and their families. Administered by the Macomb County Department of Senior Citizens Services, the program provides an environment suitable for growth and development for impaired seniors as well as respite for family members. More cost effective and desirable than institutionalization, this award-winning program seeks to prevent or delay the need for nursing home placement. Supervised care, carefully planned group and individualized activities, recreation and crafts, exercise and nutritious meals and snacks, all serve to provide mental and/or physical stimulation, opportunity for socialization and increased self-esteem. Adult Day Care Services are located in the Southeast Health Facility in St. Clair Shores (586.466.6817) and in the VerKuilen Building in Clinton Township (586.469.5579).

MCCSA's Senior Transportation Program provides Macomb County residents meeting eligibility guidelines with rides to physician visits, Community Action Centers, and other specific locations. MCCSA's vehicles are equipped with hydraulic lifts, allowing physically challenged people to be transported in their wheelchairs. For more information, please call 586.469.5225.
