The Richmond Community Theatre is pleased to announce the
theatrical production of “Steel Magnolias”, a touching comedy by Robert
Harling. Performances are
November 3-5 and 10-12, 2006. Performances are at 8:00 p.m. on Fridays and
Saturdays, and 2 p.m. matinees on Sundays.
“Steel Magnolias” is the story of six southern ladies in a
small Louisiana town who gather regularly at Truvy's Beauty Salon to
discuss men, love, age, the neighbors, children and life as they learn
that sometimes laughter is the only medicine. It has been hailed "the
funniest play to ever make your cry".
Director, Mike Trobaugh (of Chesterfield), has put together
an extremely talented cast to rival the movie-version of the 1980’s that
starred Sally Field, Dolly Parton, and Julia Roberts. Cast members include
Lisa Rossi (of New Baltimore) as M’Lynn, Patty Dorris (of Allenton) as
Shelby, Sandy Luenser (of Columbus Twp.) as Ouiser, Tami Olafson (of
Columbus Twp.) as Truvy, Kaitlyn Camilleri (of Chesterfield) as Annelle,
and Fran Dombrowski (of Macomb) as Miss Clairee. Please join them as they
bring this incredible story to life.
Richmond Community Theatre will be featuring a Special
Dinner Theatre Performance for one performance only on Saturday,
November 11th. This special event menu will feature a
“Southern-style Menu” in honor of our show. Dinner will consist of saucy
