The Harlequin Players is pleased to announce their Benefit Production of
“The Odd Couple-Female Version,” a hilarious comedy by Neil Simon which will
support the Alzheimer’s Association of Michigan. Performances are May 18-20,
2007. Performances are at 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on
Sunday, at Richmond Community Theatre.
Unger and Madison are at it again, that is Florence Unger and Olive Madison
in Neil Simon’s hilarious contemporary comic classic: The Odd Couple-Female
Version. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms.
Madison has invited the girls over for their weekly game of Trivial Pursuit.
And the Pigeon sisters have been replaced by the hilarious Constanzuela
brothers.
Proceeds for this performance will go directly to the Alzheimer’s
Association of Michigan. Director, Andrea Retman (of Harrison Twp.) has been
directly and indirectly involved with family members, or friends with family
members, who have had Alzheimer's and hopes to make others aware of the
devastating affect it has, not only on the individual, but on the family
members. Retman stated, “Even though our contribution may be small, it is my
hope that it will help to wipe this horrible disease from the face of the
earth...forever.” She is also thril led with the energy and dedication of
her cast in this important performance. “Even with their busy schedules,
these cast members came together in the spirit of generosity to support the
Alzheimer’s Association of Michigan. It is because of their dedication, and
love for the theatre, that we are able to bring this show to life.”
The Odd Couple-Female Version features Patty Dorris (of Armada) as Florence
and Lauren Chamberlain (of Warren) as Olive. Ensemble includes Mariarosa
Sciortino, Katie Hammond, Jamie Frasure, and Matt Phillips (all from
Warren), Lindsey Hills (of Rochester Hills) and Scott Horten (of Sterling
Heights). Please join them as they bring the laughter to you.
This production will be held at the historical Richmond Center for the
Performing Arts located at 69619 Parker Street at Churchill Street, 4 blocks
North of 32 Mile Road in Richmond. Ticket prices are $12 general admission,
$10 for Seniors and will be available at the door one hour before each
performance. If you have any questions, please contact Andrea Retman at
586-469-8351.
