Richmond Area Historical
and
Genealogical Society Presentation
The Lumbering Industry in Michigan in the 1870's will
be a living history presentation by Geoff Hoerauf at
the Richmond Area Historical and Genealogical Society
on Thursday, September 4th at 7:00 p.m. at the
one-room schoolhouse (corner of Beebe and Park
Streets) in Richmond. This presentation revolves
around the experiences of a shanty boy, the equipment
used during the lumbering period in the 1870's,
description of life in a lumbering camp, and factual
tales and legends for that time. This presentation
includes demonstrations, artifacts, and audience
participation. There is no charge for this program
