CLUB PRESIDENT EXCHANGE On Wednesday, June 5, Lisa Nolff, Jason Rewalt, and Bev DeVriendt joined John Hiller at Romeo as he led the meeting there.
Denis LeDuc will presided over our meeting on June 6. He brought an inter club with six people with him. We had a report on the Bicycle Rodeo. Romeo events were shared. They had a bike safety program on May 11, participated in Relay for Life on May 18-19, and held a blood drive yielding 49 pints of blood. They plan to do another blood drive on July 10 and could use our help. On July 12, they hold their golf outing at Graystone. They had a speaker on nonprescription drugs with Nicole and suggested that we have her here for some awareness of the drug problem that seems to be growing. They will have Chief Judge Masaroni share on August 28 on this topic again. They are preparing for a bowling fundraise, silent auction, and reverse raffle. On June 19, they will tour the state capitol with Alan Sanborn.

MACOMB ORCHARD TRAIL Jon Moore, from the City of Richmond, was our speaker on June 6. He shared information about the Macomb Orchard Trail, which is a rails to trails project. It will allow non-motorist movement and may have some equestrian areas. This portion of the train is 23˝ miles long. The county and some grants, like MDOT and Greenways with some local matching, are making the acquisition possible. Individual municipalities need to be responsible for insurance and maintenance. June 18, the Trail committee will meet again. On August 3, there will be a chance for people to see the trail firsthand. Our Richmond area trail should be open in 2004-2005. We were encouraged to join the friends of the Macomb Orchard Trail.

MEETINGS FOR JULY 4 and 11 We need to make alternate plans for these two weeks. July 4, of course, is a holiday. On July 11, Main Street Café is closed. We could do an inter club or have a round table with another club those weeks. Please think about where you would like to meet. July 11 might be a good day to visit the Utica Club since they meet the same time as we do.

FUNDRAISERS AND PROJECTS Please be thinking about what you think would be helpful for our club to do in the Richmond area and fundraisers that could make that happen.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
If there is something that you wish to do, begin. There is magic in motion!
