BE OUR GUEST DAY is scheduled for May 9th.  A soup, salad, and sandwich buffet with dessert and soft drinks will cost $10.15 each will be served.  We will pay for guests that day.

BOWL-A-THON The Kiwanis Bowling Party will be on Friday, April 26 at 7:00 PM. Tickets will be $10.00.  They are available at Verlinde Insurance and Richmond Flower Shop.  Please see if you can get a door prize or several to add to the fun.  So far we have golf certificates, a road map, candles, and one of Becky’s handmade baskets.  It has been suggested that we put together free lunch bags to advertise our meeting and invite people to attend, giving them free lunch if they join us at a meeting.  We need to get flyers to the bowling alley.

EASTER EGG HUNT Becky and Dennis helped with the very cold Easter Egg Hunt on March 23.  There were about 250 children there.  They left with overflowing baskets.  Thanks to all who helped with this project.

BICYCLE RODEO  Hope you have May 18th on your calendar.  We need your help to give out helmets that day starting at 10:00 with set-up prior. We have 28 ads this year so far for the Bicycle Rodeo.  Several of them are full page ads.  Whatever we don’t fill up, we’ll put in a blurb about Kiwanis.  We plan to order 400 books and get copies to businesses.  If we have 17 pages, we will earn $1,200. When John and Denny did the inventory, they found that we have 39 helmets on hand.  We should get 100 from the grant.  We will be purchasing 300 new helmets.  The largest group needed is the age 6-14 group.

LISTENING POST FOR LIBRARY Lisa said that Jan feels we should wait on the CDs until they come with books, too, so the wording is the same.  We are giving them the CD/Tape player and listening post for now so they can use their current tapes and books.  As CDs come out, we will add to the collection.

DIVISION 3 MEETING is at MacDonald Elementary at 5201 County Line Road in Casco Township on April 20 at 9:00 AM.  We are hosting so we need to be there.  Hope you can make time to join us.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

We need someone to believe in us—if we do well, we want our work commended, our faith corroborated.  The individual who thinks well of you, who keeps his mind on your good qualities, and does not look for your flaws, is your friend.  Who is my brother?  I’ll tell you: he is one who recognizes the good in me.                                          - Elbert Hubbard
