RICHMOND COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
BOND SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE
INTRODUCTION:
The Richmond Community School District continues to grow at a rapid rate.
In 1996, when we passed the last bond issue, our student population was
1,799. Today, our student population is 2,074. The Lee Elementary School is
above capacity. A portable building was added in August of 2002 and three
offices were converted to classroom space in order to handle student growth.
The middle and high schools are at full capacity. We anticipate the need to
add portable buildings at all of our facilities over the next five years in
order to create classroom space. Each portable costs the district $50,000.
Various population analysts predict that our student population will
continue to grow at a rate of 3% or more each year.
An issue related to our growing population is vehicle traffic. With more
vehicles traveling through our campus area, we have a very congested
situation in the early mornings before school starts and in the afternoon
when school finishes.
As a district, we need to address how we will meet the needs of our
children in the future. As a community member, we value your opinion and
input. We need your help! Please click on the link below and complete the
survey.
